Hi Kayy. Thanks for your review. Yes, the Hum device gets its power from the car's OBD-II port. If it gets unplugged from the port, it no longer is powered and cannot provide its location. The information is only available to you and anyone else on your Hum account. Thanks for your review. It makes us happy in several ways. 1. Hum was able to report an issue and helped you pinpoint what the issue was. 2. You've discovered that Hum can even make tax time a little easier. (We assume that you are using the feature in the Hum app that lets you tag your business trips and download them in a spreadsheet.) 3. Does the Hum work with Carlinkit Tbox UHD Android 13 CarPlay AI Box? Also, does the Hum get charged by the OBD port?
The Hum device is powered by the OBD-II port. No; Hum does not work with CarPlay AI Box as it needs to be connected directly to the OBD-II port to function.

Does the HUM give real time tracking as well as notifications? Can you get location directly off app or only by contacting someone?
With the Hum app you can view your vehicle's location on the map. You can also set location boundary alerts to be notified when your vehicle leaves or arrives at a specific location.

How do I recover a lost password?
To reset your Hum by Verizon password, you can: 1. Open the Hum app. 2. Select Forgot Password? on the sign-in screen. 3. You will receive an email with instructions on how to reset your password. If you're still having trouble, you can call Hum Customer Service at (800) 711-5800.

I use a different cell carrier than Verizon so can I still use Hum?
You can keep your wireless carrier for your other devices, but Hum is sold and activated on Verizon. So, you could create a Verizon account just for Hum.

My car offers this service via a different provider, will this still work in my car?
Hi Sherri. That all depends. If the other service does not use the car's OBD-II port, then Hum should work. Hum plugs into the port for its power and to read auto health indicators such as diagnostic trouble codes and battery status.

Hum does not need to be removed to charge it. It is powered by the vehicle's OBD-II port.
