What is Verizon Forward?
Verizon Forward provides reduced cost internet to eligible new or existing customers. Qualifying customers receive a variable service discount of up to $30/mo (see additional state specific discounts) on their Fios, 5G Home, LTE Home, Verizon Home Internet Lite and Frontier Fiber Internet in-market plan price.
Which Verizon Home Internet plans qualify for Verizon Forward?
New or existing customers may qualify with our in-market plans: 5G Home, 5G Home Plus, 5G Home Ultimate, LTE Home, LTE Home Plus, or Fios 300 Mbps, 500 Mbps, 1 Gig or 2 Gig and 5 Gig, VHI Lite, VHI Lite Extra residential Internet plans. Limited to 1 Verizon Forward discount per account. All Verizon One plans are not eligible for the Verizon discount.
Our older, grandfathered, plans are not compatible with Verizon Forward. If your plan is not listed above, you'll need to move to a compatible plan and establish your eligibility to receive Verizon Forward.
Who is eligible for Verizon Forward?
Fios Internet, 5G Home, LTE Home, VHI Lite & Frontier Fiber internet customers may be eligible for Verizon Forward if they meet at least one of the criteria below:
- Qualified for one of these assistance programs:
- Lifeline, SNAP, Medicaid, or other programs (Learn more)
- Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) (Learn more)
- Income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines
- Received a Federal Pell Grant within a year prior to application
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Federal Public Housing Assistance (Section 8)
- Veterans and Survivors Pension Benefit
- Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) General Assistance
- Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservation (FDPIR)
- Tribally Administered Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (Tribal TANF)
- Tribal Head Start (only those households meeting its income qualifying standard)
How does the Verizon Forward discount work?
The Verizon Forward discount is a variable discount of up to $30/month on your data internet plan. The discount will be calculated and your end-cost, after all discounts are applied, will be $20/month or higher with Verizon Forward, depending on the internet plan you choose.
Which Frontier Home Internet plans qualify for Verizon Forward?
New or existing customers may qualify with our in-market plans: Fiber 15 Internet, Fiber 30 Internet, Fiber 200, Fiber 500, Fiber 1 Gig, Fiber 2 Gig, Fiber 5 Gig, Fiber 7 Gig residential Internet plans may apply. Limited to 1 Verizon Forward discount per account.

Residents of California:
Verizon Forward provides qualifying customers residing in California with affordable internet discounts up to $40/month on our in-market Fios Internet, 5G/ Home, LTE Home, VHI Lite & Frontier Fiber plans depending on speed and service availability at your address.
Residents of California may also qualify for Verizon Forward with these additional programs:
- Medi-Cal (Medicaid), CalFresh (SNAP)
- Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
- California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKS),
- Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
- Greater Avenues for Independence (GAIN)
- Stanislaus County Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (StanWORKS) and Welfare-to-Work (WTW)
Residents of Connecticut:
Verizon Forward provides qualifying customers residing in Connecticut with affordable internet discounts up to $30/month on our in-market Fios Internet, 5G Home, LTE Home, VHI Lite & Frontier Fiber plans depending on speed and service availability at your address.
Residents of Connecticut may also qualify for Verizon Forward with these additional programs:
- Federal School Lunch program
- Connecticut Energy Assistance Program
Residents of New York:
Verizon Forward provides qualifying customers residing in New York state with affordable internet under the New York Affordable Broadband Act (ABA) with discounts up to $45/month on our in-market Fios Internet, 5G Home, LTE Home, VHI Lite and Frontier Fiber plans depending on speed and service availability at your address.
Residents of New York state may also qualify for Verizon Forward via any of these additional programs:
- Free or reduced-priced lunch through the National School Lunch Program
- Senior Citizen rent increase exemption
- Disability rent increase exemption
- Affordability benefit from a utility

Can Verizon Forward be combined with other discounts?
Yes! You can apply to federal Lifeline, state Lifeline (in select states) and Verizon Forward programs to maximize your benefit.
The Verizon Forward discount may also be combined with certain other discounts from Verizon such as Auto Pay, Mobile + Home Discount, Military & Veterans Discount, and others as applicable. However, the amount of the Verizon Forward discount may be reduced by other discounts on your internet service.
I am a Verizon customer, how do I apply for Verizon Forward?
- Step 1: Check Availability & Begin Enrollment.
- Click "Check Availability" or "Sign In" above.
- New Customers: Follow the prompts to check service availability at your address and begin the Verizon Forward enrollment.
- Existing Customers: After signing in, follow the prompts to confirm your plan's eligibility and begin your enrollment.
- Step 2: Application and Document Upload (If Required).
- Complete the application and upload any required eligibility documents.
- If no documents are required, your status will be provided real time. If documentation is required, your status will be provided via email within 2 business days.
- Step 3: Apply the Discount (Crucial Step).
- New Customer: IMPORTANT If qualified, you will receive an email with a link to apply for the discount. You must click "Continue" and follow the prompts to add the discount to your service. Please note: The discount will not be applied to your service until you complete this final step.
- Existing Customer: If qualified, you will receive a notification you are qualified and the discount will automatically be applied to your service.
I am a Frontier customer, how do I apply for Verizon Forward?
Frontier customers on eligible plans can apply for Verizon Forward by clicking on Frontier Verizon Forward to start your application.
I am a Frontier customer, can I see if I qualify before ordering service?
Yes, you can start and complete your validation process and verify eligibility. Just keep your enrollment number and it can then be applied to your Frontier service once your order completes. You can enroll and then Explore Fiber Plans to find the service that best matches your household's needs.
When will I see the Verizon Forward discount on my bill?
After your eligibility is confirmed and you have applied the discount to your new or existing services, the Verizon Forward discount will appear within 1-2 bill cycles as a credit of "up to $30/mo". If you are a new Verizon customer, you will need to install and activate service first.
