Fantastic Upgrade, Worth Every Cent

GuitarSolo · 2 days ago

Yes, I'd recommend this product.

I have two houses, and the second house is in a rural area in the Smoky Mountains in North Carolina. This location does not have high-speed internet. Since I acquired this house in late 2013 I had been relying on a Novatel MiFi 5510L jetpack for internet service. Until around 2018 it worked great. In recent years, the quality declined and when I found my cell phones provided more reliable connectivity during peak hours I decided to upgrade. This Inseego M21i00 is unbelievably great by comparison. We don't yet have 5G in this area, but I'll be ready when it comes. Across-the-board great quality for internet surfing, email, and streaming. Highest recommendation for this product.

Great option if you live in an area with 5G

TheTechDude · 4 days ago

Yes, I'd recommend this product.

If you live in a 5G area and need the higher speeds and bandwidth this is a great choice. This device is made by Inseego which used to be Novatel and they've always made excellent high quality devices. Sadly there is no ethernet port, there is USB tethering however I am unsure if it's USB 3/3.1 or the slower USB 2 standard. I do not understand why this is the case as the M1000 had an ethernet port, but hopefully that's something that can be added back in a future device.

Works Great... When It's Not Resetting Itself.

FingerGuns · 13 days ago

TL;DR - Solid device but it frequently resets itself. It's a known issue, and I would not buy until there is a confirmed Software fix for this device, as it seems to be a Firmware problem. The device in general is good. Clean UI, responsive touch screen, and reliable connection speeds. I do a lot of online gaming via my mobile Hotspot, so performance and reliability is important to me. However, this device is highly unreliable, as it resets itself constantly. One search for "Inseego MiFi Resetting" yields dozens and dozens of hits talking about a known issue with the current firmware, where the device just restarts, for no reason, at random intervals. I have spoken with Verizon, who claim the issue is usually caused by a bad SIM Card, but if that's the case it makes me wonder if the Verizon SIM Cards are just terribly designed based on the sheer volume of complaints about this issue I have seen online, paired with confirmations from Verizon in various posts that it is, in fact, a software issue they have yet to solve. Until then, steer clear of this Hotspot until that issue is resolved.

Will not connect to my iPads

Nanadeb · 21 days ago

I have had this device since august. It was our only means of internet at that time. My two data only iPads will not connect to this device but did connect to device I upgraded from. I’ve called numerous times but no one can help me. Finally said would send replacement and they sent me two. Two different makes and models without power cords, without batteries and without back covers. Hard to replace an item that’s a completely different make and model. Would not recommend this device nor would I recommend Verizon customer service and tech department. Sad

This thing is Awesome!!!!

JBF Pearland · 25 days ago

Yes, I'd recommend this product.

It saved our small business when Hurricane Nicholas came through and knocked out the power to our building. We were able to run all 10 registers from this one mifi. No one's phones were able to get service in our metal building to run hotspots but the mifi picked up 1 bar and made it work! We are very greatful to have this and it worked instantly with no problems.

Good WiFi, when it works, device features are subpar.

Mobile Boater · 1 months ago

I don't write reviews normally, but as I wake up this morning and see my MiFi restarted again over night for no reason leaving no WiFi when I wake up, that I thought I should chime in. This device works great when it works, but if left plugged in for too long it decides to shut off. I use this on my boat, and like to keep camera's online to keep an eye on it. The only option really for this, is to use a hotspot. This one though, turns itself off randomly whenever it wants. I leave the boat, 4 days or 4 hours later it might shut itself off while plugged in it's completely random. Not sure why that has to be a feature in this device but it is certainly annoying and I'll be selling this bad boy on Ebay for another solution asap.

Pricey Hotspot for Average Speed

Neffy202 · 1 months ago

I've had this device for 8 days now and have started to notice a lag in speed. I have 9 devices added to the Hotspot, which is nowhere near the device cap of 30, so I'm disappointed to see a lag in speed already. The only pros are that the device is ready to use right out of the box and the premium unlimited plan, which Verizon is only the mobile provider to offer this plan. I live in a rural area and even though Verizon doesn't provide the best cell service, ATT is the best for our area, they do have the best wifi plans with truly unlimited. Also, though this device is supposed to support 5g, it will only receive that signal if Verizon 5g is available in your area which isn't the case where I live. I would only recommend this device, if you have great Verizon cell signal AND Verizon 5g access where you live.

THIS NEEDS ANOTHER C CHARGER PORT OR ETHERNET PORTT!

KAMILA · 1 months ago

I recently lost my house in a fire and I was working from home. In order to continue my job from my hotel room I needed a wired connection not a wireless connection, so I did some research and came upon this device. I've never had Verizon services before but of course I was desperate so I purchased this device. In order to use this device wired I would need to purchased a c charger port with a Ethernet connection at the end and with me using a laptop with no ethernet port I had to also purchase a similar device with a USB adapter with a Ethernet port end to attach my ethernet cord to the laptop from the device. The device only stay's charged about 3 hours or less. and when using the c charger port already for a wired connection you can't just put the device on the charger when it's going dead, while being connected wired. This is so annoying and for over $400 and a almost a $120 phone bill it's honestly the worst and I am sure there has to be another device out there that will support my needs. ADD MORE PORTS AND LONGER BATTERY LIFE! THIS IS A MESS!

Un excelente producto

estrella16 · 1 months ago

Yes, I'd recommend this product.

Can one get this on an unlimited data - as another line ?

Verizon Customer Support - 6 months

Yes. Data plans for your Jetpack: If you have an Unlimited plan you can add a Jetpack to your account for $20/month. If you have a shared data plan: Your Jetpack shares your plan's monthly data amount and the monthly line access fee is $10. If you think your monthly data usage will be 1 GB or less, you can consider getting a single device plan, which is $10 for 1 GB/month when you have Auto Pay and paper-free billing for your account. Without Auto Pay and paper-free billing, the cost is $15 for 1 GB/month. http://spr.ly/6423HvQUJ - Takendra

I live 25 miles from the city and mine picks up better and faster than my Hughes net. Once it runs outta data plan it still does pretty good.

I'm looking to get a mobile hot spot for an upcoming trip, does these jetpack devices run on their own data package or you cell phone data package?

Verizon Customer Support - 7 months

That's a great question, they have their own data plan, and have no need to be connected to a cell phone.

How many GB of data does this come with?

Chuck B - 9 months

15 GB Monthly usage. Doesn't matter if it's the 5th or 20th of the month once you use 15 GBs of data it will drop your speed down to 28mbps until it resets on the 29th of the month. Really socks. I have two and it sucks.
