The best 4G hotspot Verizon offers

TheTechDude · 4 days ago

Yes, I'd recommend this product.

This device, made by Novatel now Inseego is the best 4G Wi-Fi hotspot Verizon currently offers. It has an easy to use touchscreen, large 4400 mAh battery and supports all of Verizon's LTE bands for the fastest signal and works internationally. If you need a hotspot for internet while travelling, use in an RV, etc. this is the one to get!

Good Reliable Product

KennethJ888 · 6 days ago

Yes, I'd recommend this product.

First of all, this product is meant as a mobile device for WIFI service, and is not intended for 24/7. Second, I usually do keep this device on 24/7 as I am in a rural location without available WIFI. I find it works best if I run it on battery during the day, and charge it at night. It has been pretty reliable although I don't use it for it's intended purpose. I have not had any connections issues or dropped signals. We normally connect six devices simultaneously and performance has been good. I frequently stream videos and movies with no buffering issues. I also like the feature to block certain accounts from connecting to the device (if even just temporarily). My only complaint is that if I try to charge the device with the battery greater than 40%, it won't charge, and the battery will run down to zero. Again, this device is not meant for 24/7 use (unfortunately). My other complaint is that the menu controls are difficult to use for my fat fingers. Could design the device for larger screen command buttons (e.g., back button). And some of the commands aren't that responsive, such as the connection button in the middle of the home screen (have to click it multiple times usually). Fortunately, I just usually turn it on and forget about it, so the control issues aren't that troublesome.

Excellent for work - Zoom, VPN, also personal - streaming etc.

NHlife · 9 days ago

Yes, I'd recommend this product.

I have used this product for about 4 years when I travel. I need a secure network and it has never let me down. For 16 months during COVID I was living in a remote area, and it provided all the WIFI access I needed for working (Zoom, etc.) as well as streaming movies and shows. Occasionally, due to poor weather, the Verizon connection mirrored the weather. If our remote area doesn't come in to the 20th Century! when I retire, I will be using this device.

Battery Life Sucks!

Jen2021 · 17 days ago

Seems like we can’t get a charge straight out of the box to last more up to 12 hours! Who wants to be thethered to their mifi box to make sure it’s contantly getting plugged in to charged, because they say you can’t leave it plugged in. Personally I don’t see it being better than Hughes, but for the inconvenience of the constant plug in to charge in a day, seven days a week it’s not worth it.

Restarts on its own at least three times a day

nerrrmerrr · 22 days ago

Had high hopes for this little guy. The first jetpack I received rebooted itself every day, several times a day. Reached out to support, at which they sent me a replacement device because "it should not turn itself off." well, the new device does the same thing. Can't make it through a two hour movie without the jetpack shutting off at least once, causing a two minute buffer while my TV reconnects

Amazing quality and pricing

My new little friend · 29 days ago

Yes, I'd recommend this product.

I picked one of these little things up so I can travel from my house as I have been working solely from home since 6 months prior to COVID and this works better than regular internet have the time since I can’t get fiber optic in my home where I have moved to now. Total Score. I can leave the house, camp, hike down whatever now and still work. Thank you Verizon

Great jetpack WHEN it works

MikeO · 1 months ago

I've had my 8800L for almost 2 years now and WHEN it's working it works great. The problems I have had are all battery related. I've replace the battery 3 times now due to swelling. Like many customers I tend to leave this plugged in 24/7 as the charge times vary widely and once it shuts down you manually have to restart it. I've tried timers to alternate the charging cycles and cut down on battery swelling and replacement but for some reason that just won't work more than a few days before it shuts down. It would be a huge improvement if you could use this device without a battery inside it, only on AC power but that will not work.
