I got this speaker some time ago and just sitting listening to it this morning - this is,by far, the best , most crisp and clear speaker I've ever had. I said that about the last 2 Charges I had as well. 😉 this one surpasses them big time! They put a retro clean look to this one and the carry handle makes it a complete deal. Can't do better than a JBL. Not in any category!! Thanks JBL for making music sound even better!

I'm sure the 500 produces even better sound, but the battery in the JBL Authentics 300 is the winner (for a lot lower price). I'm back in love with Music! Not that I was ever far away, but this baby takes me back to my awesome full blown stereo setup when I was 18. The only thing missing is the hiss, crackle, pop of vinyl in the Seventies. Vocals are represented sooo clearly, I feel like the artists are singing right in front of me. The mix is represented perfectly!

The speaker sounds fantastic. The wi-fi execution leaves much to be desired. I cannot confidently use Chrome to cast audio to the speaker. Alexa will not play Apple Music on this speaker, even though I have and use Apple Music on my other Alexa devices. Playing music via Google often ceases for no apparent reason. When streaming, if the device switches from one wi-fi point in my home to another, the stream stops. The iOS app does not work very well with VoiceOver.

We're here to help with your JBL Authentics 300. Please try resetting the unit by holding the power button for over 10 seconds. Then, power cycle the unit by unplugging it and letting it be out of power for like 10 minutes before you plug it back in. Also, try connecting it to a different device and configure it via Google Home on that device. If the issue continues, please contact our customer support so we can assist you.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So many cool things about this speaker! I love the design and get tons of compliments on it from guests and friends. The build materials all appear to be pretty solid quality - sturdy handle, nice feeling faux-leather body, and responsive dials for adjusting volume, bass, and tremble. The sound performance and battery life are also outstanding. I typically have it plugged in in my kitchen/dining area which it easily fills with high-quality sound, but it's also already become my go-to for park days (cue more compliments from strangers), and I haven't had to worry about losing charge halfway through. It's a great size for portability while still packing a punch even outdoors. Lastly, shout-out to JBL for making their packaging plastic-free. I always appreciate this and wish more consumer goods were moving in this direction faster. Overall super happy with the Authentics 300.

Stylish and excellent sounding speakers. I play mostly r&b/hip-hop and some electronic dance music. It sounds superb especially the low frequencies and you can dial it in on the JBL One app. Love the Wi-FI connectivity as I can connect to my Apple TV and play music from YouTube. The battery life leaves a lot to be desired. Depending on how loud you play your music that will determine the battery life. I played music for 2 hours straight after fully charged with the volume level at 55-65%. The battery life displayed 48%. I doubt it will last 8 hours as stated unless you play it super quiet. Your miles may vary. If you don't need portability and battery life I would opt for the Authentics 200. On another note, it is pricey and I wouldn't have bought it if wasn't on sale. Overall, I am happy with it.

I purchased my JBL Authentics 300 last month, it fits perfectly in my MCM style home and the sound quality is incredible and clear, even when it’s at high volume. It also has a sleek design and looks beautiful sitting on my kitchen counter. Definitely worth the investment!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The compact sleek style the Authentics provides far exceeded what was expected with the addition of a bottom subwoofer. The bass reproduction was powerful and strong. Most songs put sub to test without fail. The lyrics produced were crisp. The bass and treble can be adjusted on the system with the dials or through the JBL One application. These tools allow you to create an editible and joyful experience and adapatable environment. All around sounds from many genres of music were tried, and sound produced was fascinating. Now, the sleek look provides an elegant multimedia system. Great looking colors and style can enhance a rooms look. The ability to access the system through the application helps you relax and enjoy while being mobile. Features allowing it to connect to Wi-Fi, streaming music services, and smart connects help this item to be a need, not a want. Battery is averged to about 7 hours without charge, but that's due to all applications and connections running now. Minimize those uses, and battery life will increase.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really love the appeal of this speaker compared to other speakers in this market. Let me just say that the ability to fine tune the treble and bass balance makes it ideal for really turning up the volume without upsetting your neighbors. However with that being said this speaker is loud and has a lot of bass to it. You can definitely feel the bass. Then pair that with the built in microphone function makes it ideal for a kitchen or bathroom speaker.

Will using it plugged in harm the battery?

Thanks for your question. There is no harm in using the JBL Authentics 300 while it's charging. The battery will not overcharge since our products have PCM circuits that manage the charging of the battery. However, it may take additional time to get a full battery if used while plugged in.

Dies the model 300 provide proper STEREO sound?

You say that the model 300 produces stereo sound, but I noticed this capability is not stated in the 'general specifications' list like it is for the model 200. You may want to update the general specifications list for this model to reflect that it also has that capability if indeed it does to eliminate further questions and confusion. Please confirm. Also, I see what appears to be conflicting answers here regarding using two units for separate left and right channels. In the answer to my question, you say "On the other hand, if you have two units that you'd like to set in Stereo mode you can use either Airplay, Chromecast, or Alexa MRM in order to do so.' However in the question below mine asking about doing this, you said "Our JBL Authentics 300 cannot be paired with a similar speaker model and produce stereo sound." So which is it? Is it possible or not?

Yes, our JBL Authentics 300 produces stereo sound. On the other hand, if you have two units that you'd like to set in Stereo mode you can use either Airplay, Chromecast, or Alexa MRM in order to do so.

When two of these units are paired together, do you get true left and right stereo sound?

Thanks for your inquiry. Our JBL Authentics 300 cannot be paired with a similar speaker model and produce stereo sound. But you can place multiple JBL Authentics speakers throughout your home and using the Google Home app or Amazon Alexa app, you can set the mood in every room by connecting two or more speakers to a single playlist and getting everybody moving to the same beat.

Does the speaker have an IPxx rating?
