I replaced a flip 5, which quit working, (wouldn't hold a charge) and the grip does not sound as good as the flip by far, so I'm disappointed. I would send the flip 5 in for repair if you do that type of thing...I used them for background music in my qi gong and meditation classes and occasionally want a higher volume for resound in the room.

I bought this to go with my JBL Boombox 4 so I could sync up and have boom box on my dock and the grip on my floating cooler. I have done test runs and the syncing works effortlessly and the sound of the grip sounds great by itself or when syncing up. I am so happy to finally found these and best off they are waterproof. I also love how I was able to personalize the design, that was super easy and I it makes me want to design and buy more to add them to the fun and amazing sound. looking forward to the summer and floating fun with my summer tunes blasting.

Can I connect it simultaneously with the other versions like the flip 5 and 6?

Thanks for your question. Our JBL Grip and JBL Flip 5 and 6 can not be paired together as they use different wireless connections. Our Grip features Auracast, while our Flip 5 and 6 use JBL PartyBoost. These two systems are not compatible, meaning you won’t be able to link the speakers for synchronized playback. To connect multiple JBL speakers, they must support the same pairing protocol.

Thanks for your question. Our JBL Grip does not support multipoint connection, so it can not connect to two devices at the same time. However, it does support multi-speaker connection through Auracast, which allows you to connect two or more JBL Grip speakers or other JBL Auracast-enabled speakers together.
