Thank you for your feedback with our JBL Partybox Club 120. It has a published up-to playtime of up to 12 hours which is the maximum battery time you will get when listening at background levels. As you turn up the volume, the playtime will be reduced, much like a phone battery when you brighten the screen. The same goes for source material. Music with more bass will also reduce playtime. It is possible that the battery is working correctly, but depletes more quickly when the volume is very loud and/or the bass has been boosted. Battery playtime also decreases as the battery ages and all batteries, over time, will slowly wear down. Please charge the battery to 100% and then listen to music without any bass boosted, and at a very low volume. If the battery lasts close to the published up-to playtime, the battery is working fine. However, if you get less than 90% of the published spec, please contact us directly here: https://support.jbl.com/us/en/#contactjbl.com Originally posted on jbl.com

Thanks for your feedback. It is possible that the battery is losing its capacity. However, it is also possible that the battery is working correctly, but depletes more quickly when the volume is very loud and/or the bass has been boosted. Please try this experiment: Charge the battery to 100% and then listen to music without any bass boosted, and at a very low volume. If the battery lasts close to the published up-to playtime, the battery is working fine. However, if you get less than 90% of the published spec, this likely means that the battery is losing its capacity. Note: Battery playtime also decreases as the battery ages. Should you determine that the battery is losing its capacity, please contact us directly for further assistance via this link: https://support.jbl.com/us/en/#contactjbl.com Originally posted on jbl.com

Given the price point is similar, Is the sound output 'louder' than a Boombox 3?
Thank you for your inquiry. When it comes to loudness, our JBL PartyBox Club 120 is typically 'louder' than our JBL Boombox 3 due to its larger size and higher wattage, which allows it to deliver a more potent audio performance given its design and focus on party settings. However, for users who prioritize portability along with a strong and balanced sound, the Boombox 3 could be a more suitable choice. It's important to note that user preference can vary greatly based on the intended use and environment in which the speaker will be used.
