Hi Jeff1987, We regret to hear you are having noise canceling issues with your headphones. We’d love to help you troubleshoot your problem. When the Adaptive Sound Control on the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app is turned on, the wearer's actions, like walking or running, are detected. The noise canceling function is automatically adjusted and the Ambient Sound Mode may be activated according to these actions. To make the most of the noise canceling function, turn off the Adaptive Sound Control, and try to turn on the noise canceling function manually when you need it. You may refer to this link for troubleshooting steps to isolate and fix this issue: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/wireless-headphones-bluetooth-headphones/wh-1000xm4/articles/00267839 The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices. If you need more information or technical assistance with your product, please feel free to contact us and we'll be more than happy to assist you. Noise cancellation
Abhi9 . 1 month ago
Sony North America Customer Support - 1 month ago
Hi Abhi9, We regret to hear that you are not satisfied with the noise canceling function of the headphones. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. For optimum performance, make sure that the software version of the headset is up-to-date (via the Sony Headphones Connect app). The Sidetone function's effect makes it easier to talk using the headphones and helps the headphone microphone pick up sounds and play your voice naturally. As a result, the noise canceling function works differently from when playing music. If you hear ambient sounds, headphone operational sounds, or white noise (a slight electrical noise with continuous static sound) from the headphones, that is also an effect of the Sidetone function, not a malfunction. Noise cancellation doesn't transfer during telephone calls. Although it protects the headphones user from the surrounding noise, it doesn't apply to the receiver of the call: they will potentially hear background noise. As a workaround, you can check the settings of your source device or the app that you are using for mic sensitivity if available. Hope this helps. Noise reduction
Fitoerazo . 3 months ago
Sony North America Customer Support - 3 months ago
Hi Fitoerazo, Thank you for the purchase! We do apologize for the inconvenience. Noise-canceling technology can't completely isolate sound due to the air trapped between your audio device and the eardrum. The noise canceling effect may not be pronounced in a tranquil environment, or some sounds may be heard. If there is little ambient noise, it is advisable not to switch on the NC function, as it needs ambient input to function optimally. For more troubleshooting regarding your concern, please check this article below. https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/articles/00267839 Thank you for choosing Sony! -Davidsony.com Originally posted on sony.com
