I purchased this phone because my SE two was no longer able to be updated. If I would’ve known the SE third generation would have been out a couple months after I definitely would’ve waited. It took three days to get it set up. I had to bring it to Best Buy in order for them to get it to back up to the iCloud. I have to shut off my phone at least 3 to 4 times a day because it freezes or gets so bogged down that it won’t respond to anything. I hate that they took away the power button on the top because the button on the side usually ends up taking a screenshot and less I’m trying to cause my phone with two hands. I don’t recommend it.

SE took better photos, and I miss home button

3 out of 5 rating

ShearonM · 19 days ago

I was so excited to get into a compact size phone with good photo capabilities - but this 13 mini is a huge disappointment. Two things I photograph for my career - large paintings and macro scale plants/insects - demonstrate its failures. There is distortion that makes the edges of paintings look bowed, and the camera completely fails at focusing close up. The 6s and se 2020 both took very capable and beautiful macro photos and I’m confounded as to why this 13 mini is an epic failure at photography. Also - I miss the home button. This seems easily confused between toggling bottoms on the bottom of the screen and swiping, especially near the bottom of pages. Finally, I hate the ratio of length to width. Honestly, the ratio would be improved by occupying some of the screen area with a home button. The long, skinny screen ratio is awkward and uncomfortable for most uses. There are plenty of other quirks that make me hate this phone. Ugh - I want my SE back!!!

Not worth it

2 out of 5 rating

Ckad · 26 days ago

The quality of the camera on this iPhone is poor. I was upgrading from an 11 pro and decided to return the mini because I don’t think it’s an upgrade at all. It also kept getting very hot while I was transferring my old iPhone, which I thought was strange considering my 11 pro didn’t get hot at all when I transferred it back. I’m guessing it’s because it’s smaller and is working harder? I don’t know. I really wanted to keep this phone because I love the size and design, but it was just not worth it.

Love my new phone, moved up from 7 ,battery last long time, one hand operation, love face recognition, unlocking instantly, fast phone, love no button screen swipe, wasn’t sure I would, beautiful red with clear drop protection case. This phone will do me for a long time, very happy!!!!

I’ve had my new phone nearly 2 weeks. Several of my apps don’t work now (black screen?), it doesn’t speak well with my car (2020 Civic), and reception has been poor in several areas. All this and find your own charge cord? Very disappointed. Hoping new software versions fix all the glitches.

Disappointing

I bought my 13 mini on 2/7/2022 - the battery failed after about a month and a half and now I’m paying to have my almost new phone repaired. I feel like I’m paying full price with a premium for a refurbished product. Prior to the fail, it was an okay product.

Does the Upgrade mean you are hooked into a 24 or 36 month contract?

Verizon Customer Support - 3 days

Hey there, Mark, that is a great question! The great news with Device Payments is you are NOT locked into any type of contract. You make monthly payments on the device you purchase and if you decide you are not wanting to make monthly payments you can easily pay off the remaining balance of the phone. There is no interest or anything it will be the full retail price divided into 36 months. You can find all of the information on our Device Payment Plan here: https://www.verizon.com/support/device-payment-faqs/ Does this information help? -Santo
