Phone was amazing to start with across all aspects (speed, camera, battery, responsiveness, etc.) Less than a year later, the phone's battery drains easily, doesn't respond well to fast typing, quirks out when trying to go what's considered normal speed today - it's a complete mess.

Great Little Phone

Tdewitt · 7 days ago

Yes, I'd recommend this product.

This Pixel 5 gives me what I wanted in a phone that wasn't a thousand dollars. Large battery, IP68 rating, 90hz refresh rate with wireless charging and battery share. It does have it draw backs and that is 128GB with no expandable memory or true dual speakers. Although the dual speakers feature an earpiece speaker that uses sound waves to produce sound through the phone. The 765 chipset is not as fast as a top-tier chipset like the 888SD but it works 95% of the time without any hesitation, and I'm a heavy user. The 1080p screen still looks good but the brightness suffers in direct sunlight but its still viewable. I like the Andriod experience on this phone and its shows with the beta I am on with Andriod 12. Google also has features that I use that Samsung doesn't have. So if you want a phone that has fantastic support. Provides life features other phones don't have like call screening and call hold. This phone is worth the money if you can get one.

Terrible phone, even worse service

Right · 8 days ago

I have always liked Android and Google phones and was very pleased with the Pixel XL. I've had the Pixel 5 for about a year and it's plain and simple garbage. It lags like and EA game, the screen cracked from who knows what, it picks up signal like rocks absord water, even in 5g areas, it has to be restarted every other day due to basic functions freezing, and the fingerprint scanner couldn't pickup a print if it was made of one. Im highly disappointed in this phone and it's inability to function like a normal phone. I would not recommend on any level unless you really hate your life and just want to spend your days thinking of ways to break your phone in a way it will remember.

Best Phone I Ever Had

markj · 10 days ago

Yes, I'd recommend this product.

I haven't had a better phone. I have the 4a and will upgrade when I upgrade on a year. My wife has iphone 12, and is technically not savvy. She now sees that pixel phones are so much easier to navigate and wants one when hers is paid off. I do have an apple laptop, but apple is relying on aura of iphones to sell more. The 4a doesn't have 5G, and that's the only reason I will upgrade. Everything works, and I have a launcher that suits me.

High-Level Review if you are seriously considering the Pixel 5

AJAR2021 · 19 days ago

Yes, I'd recommend this product.

I've owned and used the Google Pixel 5 for an entire year at the time of this review. Every other review about the excellent camera quality, the stellar battery life, and the call screening functions are absolutely on-point. I want to comment on picture storage and the Google Photos app. If you've never used Google Photos before, it's 100% immediate cloud storage. Here's what that means: I can take a photo of a lake, then toss my Pixel INTO THE Lake. Moments later, I can open up my Chromebook and view that VERY PICTURE of the lake! Because this phone is water-resistant, it will still function properly. (Side-note: I rescued my daughter who was drowning in a friend's pool and forgot to remove the Pixel from my pocket. The phone was completely operational and never even turned off! I typed this review USING the Pixel, so Google clearly understands water-resistant design!) - Here's the best part about cloud storage: saving photos immediately to the cloud eliminates the need for subscriptions to other cloud services, plus photos DON'T take up storage space! This means more space for apps, docs, etc. Thus, 128GB is ample storage. - I noticed some reviews complained about the swipe functions being finicky and difficult to use. Android fans: don't panic! Google gives people the option to keep permanent menu buttons on the bottom of the screen, including the Home and Back buttons. - Lastly, I want to mention that this phone is 'only' six inches across diagonally. I came from an LG phone with a significantly larger screen. However, I hardly spend time watching YouTube clips, movies and whatnot on the phone, so the smaller screen doesn't bother me. It is the perfect-sized phone for my average-sized hand. If you are already used to a 6.5"+ screen, then this smaller one will be noticeably different. So, buy a new Pixel 5. I promise it's a decision smartphone fans won't regret! - AJAR

Pixel 5 after one week

Yes, I'd recommend this product.

I've seen alot of reviews that describe the Pixel 5 as unexciting and good but not great. That is how I would characterize my Pixel 5 after a week. It's good, not flashy. Does everything good without any fanfare. It feels small, but you adjust after a few days. It's fast, efficient, I just loaded Android 12 beta and it cooks right along. My one complaint: poor cellular signal. About 2/3 of my one plus and 2/3 of my Pixel 3Xl and 3A XL. My wife's 5A-5G gets a stronger signal than me.so 4 stars out of 5.......

Yes, I'd recommend this product.

Since I've only been using my new Pixel 5 for about a week, I cannot give it five stars. However, I find myself wanting to interact with it on a daily basis more than I interact with my iPhone. I'm sure there are a number of reasons for this. At this point all I can say is that there's an ease of use to get to the information I need to get on with my day that makes this a great experience. More to follow...
