Hardware Software Conflict Errors

Kevin . 5 months

Had the phone for just under two years. The hardware has started to fail such that the phone won't log into the wifi at all. After working with Google Pixel customer service it was determined that the phone is unable to properly execute the drivers and power usage between the mobile network receiver and the wifi receiver. The device regulates power between the two using Adaptive Control. I had to halt Adaptive Control to use the Wifi. Else it would NEVER find or connect to any Wifi network. Also, relative to the camera. It isn't as good as many believe. I am a professional photographer and will at times use my phone when unable to use my Sony Mirrorless Camera. It works well with videos but the actual picture quality is terrible! When I travel I have my wife bring her Samsung and Apple phones, both of which have FAR better picture quality. If I had to do this again I would NOT get a Pixel. I had a Samsung prior and am disappointed I changed.

They sent me a phone that was locked to T-Mobile. The in-store people made a huge effort to help but there was no way for them to unlock the phone and my number had already been assigned to it. Crazy situation that needs to be prevented at all costs.

  13. Car crash detection not available in all languages or countries. Car crash detection may not detect all accidents. High-impact activities may trigger calls to emergency services. This feature is dependent upon network connectivity and other factors and may not be reliable for emergency communications or available in all areas. For country and language availability and more information see g.co/pixel/carcrashdetection.
  14. For "over 24 hours": Estimated battery life based on testing using a median Pixel user battery usage profile across a mix of talk, data, standby, and use of other features. Average battery life during testing was approximately 31 hours. Battery testing conducted on a major carrier network. For “Up to 72 hours”: Estimated battery life based on testing using a median Pixel user battery usage profile across a mix of talk, data, standby, and use of limited other features that are default in Extreme Battery Saver mode (which disables various features including 5G connectivity). Battery testing conducted on a major carrier network. For both claims: Battery testing conducted in California in mid 2023 on pre-production hardware and software using default settings, except that, for the “up to 72 hours” claim only, Extreme Battery Saver mode was enabled. Battery life depends upon many factors and usage of certain features will decrease battery life. Actual battery life may be lower.
  15. Designed to comply with dust and water protection rating IP68 under IEC standard 60529 when each device leaves the factory but the device is not water or dust proof. The accessories are not water or dust resistant. Water resistance and dust resistance are not permanent conditions and will diminish or be lost over time due to normal wear and tear, device repair, disassembly or damage. Phone is not drop/tumble proof and dropping your device may result in loss of water/dust resistance. Damage from drops, tumbles, and other external forces are not covered under warranty. Liquid damage voids the warranty. See g.co/pixel/water for details.

Phone Is Locked to Another Carrier

1 undefined

Lissy . 9 months

I read the other review about the phone being locked to another carrier and figured that must be a rare occurrence no way that would happen again and took my chances. I got the phone and couldn't activate it as it said the device was locked, several calls to tier 2 tech support and a trip to the store and no one knew what carrier it was locked to. For some reason they couldn't even order me a replacement so now I must wait for a return label in snail mail and be over a week without a phone as I can't do another upgrade as it's still showing the device payment until its returned. I don't know where these pre-owned phones are coming from but they definitely weren't originally with Verizon.

within 5 minutes of me taking it out of the box the screen started glitching and looked like static from a old TV. it would only do it sporadically at first but I've had it for 2 weeks now and it's just about inusable. my 9 pro XL should be in today, but it was very frustrating to receive a defective phone from a billion dollar company and then they turn around and ask me to pay the tax on a replacement for the defective phone. I'm a new customer and I was told I was getting a $300 gift card for signing up, now I hear nothing about that. probably going to cancel my service since they can't hold up their end

HORRIBLE connectivity - Garbage phone

1 undefined

Miah . 1 year

Unless you live in an area with 5 bars of 5G, don't bother. the antennae on this phone is garbage. I live in an area that has 4GLTE, 5G, and 5GW. My wife has an Iphone15 that has no problems. I'm on my second Pixel 8 Pro, both had the same problem. I've been in contact with Tech support and Customer service. They even sent out an LTE Booster to run on my network. I still loose voice during calls, drop calls. I love the OS, has alot of features I wanted and got me away from the Samsung bloat. Unfortunately it appears that Pixel hardware isn't ready yet.
