I hate this phone with every fiber of my being

I've had this phone for nearly two years, and every moment I have it, I fight the urge to throw it at a wall. It's not intuitive at all. The touch screen barely registers my touch, making navigation or even texting a frustrating battle. It takes me a minimum of 3-5 attempts to unlock my phone because it's so unresponsive to touch. The camera feature is not as good as advertised. My accidental photos on my old Motorola Edge+ phone had better quality than the intentional ones I take with this phone. The processing sucks. It loads everything slowly and constantly freezes up, with no way to manually turn it off to restart. I just have to wait for it to stop freezing or restart itself. The claim of up to 31 hours of battery life is a lie. My battery drops below 50% by mid-day, even with battery saver mode on. Overall, I hate this phone with every fiber of my being, but I'm stuck with it for another year because I'm locked into a 3-year contract, when I thought I was told it was a 2-year contract. I can't trade it in without paying the rest of it off, which I can't afford. As soon as I pay it off, I'm going back to an actual Android phone and will actually chuck this frustrating phone at the wall. I will never get a Google Pixel ever again.

This phone was great. Never really had any issues. But then one day out of no where I got the "white screen of death" . This happened 1 year of having this phone. I could hear everything on my phone but I could not see my screen. Tried rebooting and it did nothing. The phone was still under Google warranty but Verizon gave me a new upgraded phone for free. I have the Google pixel 10 now. Hopefully I don't have the same issue.

seriously, how is google a major company? this phone has no new tech/ideas, everything is antiquated by at least 10 years. the library/adaptive texting sucks. My Blackberry learned from my personal fat fingers and would come up with likely options. Google doesn't learn, doesn't give reasonable options when I fat finger keys. and I mean it allows obvious non-words but will block obscure words I use. I have serious problems sending emails, particularly ones with attachments. I have to constantly check the email hub to see if the emails got sent. I will never buy another google phone, I'll get a Moto phone before that happens

Worst new phone ive ever had

This is the first time getting a new phone that felt like a downgrade, and a massive downgrade at that. Most of the reasons I'm an android user become irrelevant with this device. It also uses the UI to jam google cloud advertising down your throat. Most of the time I open my gallery to view photos, I'm met with a full screen ad for google cloud that can't be closed. I have to click through two ad menus before it goes away, only to reappear the next time I open my gallery. The fingerprint sensor is easily the worst I have ever used. It doesnt even come close to the fingerprint sensor on my galaxy s7 from a decade ago. The corners of the screen are rounded so you are losing a bit of everything you view on it. Some websites become broken because they assume you have a phone that will use the full dimensions instead of chopping it off. The self is cam cutout is extremely ugly (and again, cuts out viewing area) and the camera bump is even more atrocious. The google notifications for two step authentication have never worked in the 6 months ive used it. Ive never had an issue with the 4 Samsung galaxy phones ive used, and this tool from google doesnt work on a product google designed. There are consistent but fortunately uncommon bugs in the UI. A few times a month it either locks up and I have to restart or the unlock process doesnt work and I end up at a blank grey screen that doesnt respond. I have to lock my phone and then try to unlock it again. It mostly works the second time when this happens. The only redeeming quality is the camera, which is admittedly incredible. But if you ever use anything beside the camera (including viewing the pictures you took) you are going to hate this broken experience.

Buy a case that covers the back camera

I love this pixel and the camera is great but start right off with a case that covers the back camera. Even with the glass protector on the back camera, the way the phone is designed with the camera protuding out further than the case I cracked the screen protectors with every two inch drop, went through 6 back screen protectors in 4 months before finally bought a case that protects the back camera better.

This phone was a replacement for the wife's Samsung. Got it on recommendation from salesperson. MISTAKE. Going from a Samsung to this is not intuitive at all. Then there is the fact that this is the usual Google spy machine. You can delete search history, but you can't turn it off. If you do decide to get this phone, install the DuckDuckGo browser.

Vertical line on the screen 2 weeks out of warranty.

Frustrating

It is a very frustrating phone. All of the apps I 'tansferred' came across differently. When I open an app to do something lots of Google windows pop up offering info on stuff I don't want or can't use. Sometimes I cannot actually get to the app I wish to use. Once I can the phone is fine. I bought the phone because it has a better camera, however the pixel use is so high I cannot text the picture I took. Very frustrating.

I've been very pleased with my pixel 9 so far. It works very similar to my Motorola edge. Still learning some things about it but overall I'm pleased.

I like the Pixel 9 Pro. It was an easy transition from the Pixel 6. The camera is very nice. It does overheat easily, though. I don't see a big improvement in the battery.
