Phone reboots/death at 5 days

agh341 - 3 hours ago

I ordered this phone (Samsung A42 5G) since the A51 was out of stock. A replacement for my antique Galaxy S7. For the first few days it ran fine. I was still getting apps set up and used to the feel. Call quality was noticeably better. The problems started after I used it for my boarding pass for two flights. I got off the planes and suddenly the only thing the phone would do is reboot. I had wifi and bluetooth turned off, and connected with a vpn, so should not have been any sort of nefarious activity. For three days it would not charge, wireless or with usb cable and the phone would stay powered up just long enough for me to log into home screen and it would immediately reboot. I was unable to get it open long enough to let me even do a factory reset. Finally, I had to take it in to my local Verizon store, and it even took them 30 minutes to get it to reset. I am really disappointed. After a few days my ancient Galaxy S7 at least functions. I just recieved a second one for my other line. I am nervous about what will happen.
