Worst phone experience EVER

I have used Samsung S series phones since the S4. Switched to Motorola for a while then decided to go back to Samsung and went with the A53 5G. If the phone was not under contract I would break it into pieces. In my pocket it opens apps and makes calls, however when I intend to open an app i have to touch it 3-5 times to get it to respond. Screen often can't figure out what it's orentation should be (portrait, landscape, portrait, landscape, portrait, landscape,) it's a riot. Sumsung should be ashamed!!!

Nice phone ... when it works

I Purchased two of these phones for my twin daughters about a year and a half ago. Both phones had issues within the first year. One stopped recognizing the SIM card and you could not make phone calls. The SIM card was replaced and the phone still didn't work even after a factory reset. i.e. the issue was the phone not the SIM card. The second phone would become unresponsive and you would have to hold the power button until it shut off. After a restart it would work for a while and freeze up again. It got to the point where it would not boot up at all. Version replaced both phones as they were still under warranty. After a few months one of the replacements has now died. It's completely unresponsive. Version is sending another replacement. (Thank you Verizon). I do not recommend this phone. Good picture and features, but there is something wonky with the electronics. Buyer beware...

It is a known issue that you sound like a garbled robot to people you call from certain year cars using bluetooth, including our 2017 Rav4. You can just search "A53 robotic voice" to see. And Samsung has admitted it. But after 1 1/2 years, it's still an issue. This is a safety issue, not being able to make emergency calls from the car. Also, frequently calls won't go through, and increasingly, when I call, people can't hear me / I can't hear them at all, but the call is in progress. This is the worse phone I've ever had. I wish I had returned it when I first found out about the bluetooth issue, instead of foolishly thinking Samsung would fix it.

Worst phone I have EVER purchased by far. Very slow, everything takes about a minute to load. Even typing is slow. I've gone through 3 different phone cases because it's impossible to find one that fits. And I'm not paying $40 on a phone case. DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK PHONE.

If you haven't done so already, we recommend adjusting the motion smoothness setting in your settings app. Under display you can adjust the motion smoothness from standard to adaptive. This will increase the refresh rate of your device and help with the speed. You can also look in to expanding the storage capacity of your device as well to help with the speed. Huge problems trying to access the internet while utilizing data. Long delays to receive txt messages, occasionally hours . Not like the old Samsungs. Stay away!!

Ive been using Samsung for a while now since started with S8+ then S9+ and loved them both so have stuck with Samsung. Recently I switched from using the Samsung A03's since it was unusable for me but I am a heavy user and A53 has kept up for the most part so far the first thing I noticed was how light it was felt so much better to use in one hand the screen is bright even outside supports super fast charging it has 6GB ram my opinion the least amount a phone should have in 2023 so should keep up and the in 128GB internal storage should be enough for me but also has up to 1tb external sd card I think it's a solid choice for the majority of people it's going to do everything you need it too

Workers great with 5G, but willnot work with any other band. LTE will not connect to the internet and I keep getting the letter E and no internet connection. This phone sucks will move to motorola.

Samsungs reply to my review is a joke. I don't need instructions on sound settings, I've received two defective phones, I've been with Verizon for 18 years and am strongly considering changing carriers because of this. I've been trying to get different model replacement for 4 days and am getting nowhere. Been on hold for 25 minutes today. I wish LG still made phones. I'm reluctant to try another Samsung.

The Galaxy A53 5G UW utilizes a USB-C charging port so if you have a 3.5mm to USB-C adapter, you're able to use your wired headphones with this device like normal. Simply plug in a USB-C to 3.5mm Adapter to your device, then your headphones into the adapter. You can also use the USB-C port on your device to plug in a pair of USB-C wired headphones, if you prefer wired headphones. Does this phone have HD calling capability? It will not automatically connect to my wifi and network extender when I come home, I have to power the phone off

HD Voice is a suite of services enabled by VoLTE (Voice over LTE) technology. VoLTE delivers voice calls over the 4G LTE network instead of the traditional voice network, providing clearer, more natural sounding audio when both parties are using HD Voice-enabled phones that are connected to our 4G LTE network. From a Home screen, tap the Phone icon Phone icon (lower-left). If unavailable, swipe up from the center of the display then tap Phone. > Tap the Menu icon (upper-right). > Tap Settings. > Tap the Video Calling switch to turn on or off. If presented, review the notification then tap OK to confirm. HD Voice service is included in your existing voice plan at no additional charge. When you purchase a current device, HD Voice is automatically added to your account and ready for you to use on your device. HD Voice calls are billed as standard voice minutes, according to your plan. If a wired headset or a Bluetooth® headset is connected to your phone, HD Voice calls may not be delivered to the headset with HD quality unless the headset is also compatible with HD Voice. I’ve had an A50 for 3yrs now & am very pleased with it. Is this model the newest in the series? Also, does it have a headphone jack?
