Do NOT get this phone. I originally went from a Samsung Note 9 to the Samsung S21 Plus 5G. It was disappointing to no longer have the stylus but this was a supposed "upgrade." I had the phone for seven months and it completely bricked. It could not be turned on. Just a black screen. It was replaced by Verizon with a refurbished S21 Plus 5G. Today — after six months while watching some videos — the screen went completely black. The phone cannot be turned on. I have to replace it but it will not be with another S21 Plus 5G. For the first time in about 15 years I will be replacing this phone with something other than a Samsung. I was looking forward to going back to the Note series but since that will be discontinued it has become necessary to take a new path. Please make this right.

Typical Samsung gimmicks

3 out of 5 rating

Ccp1 · 3 days ago

Was ready for an upgrade from my google pixel. Didn’t like the new one out so looked at other brands. Really wanted to go back to an iPhone but everything I had, chargers etc, we’re droid. Always thought Samsung felt cheap, plastic feeling and nothing but bling and gimmicks to attract a younger crowd. A toy. I use my phone for what it is, a phone. Saw the S20. Brand new out. Liked the size of the plus. When I picked the phone up I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it felt. Heavy, solid, not plastic feeling. Screen was nice to the touch, buttons felt good. Started going threw the process of checking everything out and this phone was fast. Liked some of the other features so I figured I’d give Samsung benefit of the doubt. Was good first month except dropping calls which is really upsetting to me but again, so many gimmicky things nobody in their right mind would use. Then the first update. What a mess, then the second, third and fourth. Each upgrade ruined the phone. Running slower, dropping calls, delayed texts, freezing. Now you may say maybe I just got a bad phone. The deal is my GF got the S20 ultra at the same time and the same was happening to her so it wasn’t just me. Now maybe if your a younger person who’s life revolves around your phone this might be for you, but as a 60 year old man who uses his phone to conduct business on, relies on pictures, emails and texts to do so, then maybe not this phone. After 5 months I was ready to throw phone out the window doing 65. Took the loss, traded it in for an iPhone 13 pro. Happiness is a new iPhone.

Reoccurring problems

AG26 · 4 days ago

I am on my 3rd s21 5g phone. The first 2 phones the speakers kept cutting out while I was on the phone or listening to music. The phone gets worse service than my s10 did. This phone does not have a headphone jack nor does it come with a normal charger. you are unable to put a SD card in the phone. To me personally the camera isn't great. Save yourself some time and go with another phone.

Finally the Samsung that drove me to Apple

2 out of 5 rating

Kfed · 5 days ago

I had this phone for a day and returned it. I told a Verizon representative it was defective and the response was that I didn't port my number right... funny, never ever had this problem before. I never did get the "improved" fingerprint reader to work, half of my incoming calls were "dead air" upon answering. No micro SD card slot. No aux jack. Samsung for 10 years and finally driven to Apple.

Not impressed

Bob27 · 8 days ago

Went from a Note 10 to the S21 and was disappointed almost immediately. Even from new, the battery life was short lived, maybe 4 or 5 hours from full to 30% when used for standard apps. Email, browsing the internet, facebook, and maybe a video or two.

Cuts off & Reboots-Worst Samsung

1 out of 5 rating

cincycindy13 · 10 days ago

I have been loyal to Samsung for over 15 yrs, and never had problems like I have with this phone. It constantly freezes, cuts off and reboots! At least 8 or more times a day! Doesn't matter how much I clean it, close apps or delete history. Doesn't matter how much battery time I have left. It is annoying and frustrating, and will do it even when talking. This phone also periodically gets very hot. Reminds me of the older Samsungs that would catch fire. I am disgusted, and I have at least 2-1/2 yrs left to pay on it. Camera is ok, not what I expected. My husband's Pixel takes better photos. 5G...works only sometimes even though I live in a 5G area. Overall, not worth the money and wish I had kept my old phone. (BTW, I accidentally rated the 21 Ultra previously, but my phone is a Galaxy S21+ 5G.)

Yes, I'd recommend this product.

Great phone. Excellent camera. I'm the only non apple user in my friend group, and at work; so I have to have a phone that keeps up, and stays competitive. This phone so far has been talked about in our group more than any one of the iPhone 13s. Ive had the s5 and s8 and both served me well. Since using it I've had no issue, and love that it can change my watch! I even offered a charge so a friend's iphone!
