Factory Data Reset - Need to Know - Samsung Galaxy S7 / S7 edge
Before performing a factory data (hard) reset on your Samsung Galaxy S7 / S7 edge, view this info on backing up contacts, media, apps, etc.
- All your personal info is erased including contacts, apps, email accounts, pics/vids, etc.
- An SD Card can only be decrypted prior to completing a Factory Data Reset.
- If a Factory Data Reset is performed prior to decrypting an SD Card, you must first format the SD Card before it can be used again. Doing so removes any previously saved information.

Syncing or other password protected apps
- Make sure you know the info to reconnect to other apps.
- Some apps that have sync or password options include:
- banking apps
- reading apps (e.g., Kindle, Overdrive, etc.).
- Evernote
- calendar apps
- to-do list apps
