The incoming call screen on your Apple® iPhone® has different ways to manage calls. Learning these options helps you make quick decisions on how to respond to calls.

Before you begin

The options presented may vary depending on the call type and iOS version.

Steps

  1. While receiving a call, tap one of the following:
    • Message
      1. Tap the desired message (i.e., Custom, Can I call you later?, etc.).
    • Voicemail
      1. Live Voicemail must be enabled.
      2. Review the live transcript then do one of the following:
        • Tap
          Accept
          .
        • Tap
          Stop
          .
        • Tap
          Block
          , review the prompt then tap
          Decline and Block
           (to unblock a number, refer to Block / Unblock Numbers).
        • Tap
          Message
           then tap the desired message (i.e., Custom, Can I call you later?, etc.).
        • To silence the Live Voicemail, press the
          Side button
           or either
          Volume button
          .
