Add / Remove Touch ID

Set up Touch ID on your Apple® iPhone® for fast, secure access. Remove saved fingerprints when troubleshooting or changing devices.

Before you begin

Ensure a passcode is set up.

Open the

Settings app

Tap

Touch ID & Passcode

then enter the passcode.

Tap

Add a Fingerprint

then do one of the following:

For first-time setup: Place your finger over the

Home button

then follow onscreen prompts to capture the fingerprint.

To add more Touch ID fingerprints, place your finger over the

Home button

then follow onscreen prompts to capture the fingerprint.

To remove Touch ID fingerprints, tap the fingerprint name then tap

Delete Fingerprint

To edit the Touch ID fingerprint name, tap the fingerprint name, update the info then tap the

Checkmark icon
