Here's how to manage volume controls if your Galaxy Tab A (8.0) doesn't vibrate or make sounds when receiving messages or other notifications
  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Sounds and vibration
    Volume
    .
  3. Drag the
    slider
     left or right to adjust the volume level for any of the following:
    If unavailable, ensure the 'Mute all sounds' switch is turned off.
    • Notifications
    • Media
    • System
      If unavailable, ensure the notifications setting (above) is on.
To turn off all sounds, navigate:
Settings
Accessibility
Hearing enhancements
 then tap the
Mute all sounds switch
 to turn on.
