Google Pixel 3 / 3 XL - Power Up in Safe Mode

Safe mode is a diagnostic state on your Pixel 3/ 3 XL that only runs system apps so you can isolate if a third-party app is causing freezing or slowness.
  1. Ensure the device is powered off.
    An alternate method is available if the device can be powered on and is responsive.
  2. Press and hold the
    Power button
     until the Google logo appears on the screen then release.
    Allow several seconds for the logo to appear.
  3. With the Google logo still on screen, press and hold the
    Volume down button
    .
  4. Continue to hold the
    Volume down button
     until 'Safe mode' appears in the lower-left of the unlock screen then release.
    This may take up to 30 seconds.
