Activate your Galaxy Tab A (10.5) to get started. This ensures you can connect to the internet.

Before you begin

If using a physical SIM card, make sure there's a 5G SIM card is inserted into the device before powering on.

Steps

  1. Press and hold the
    Power / Side button
     until the device starts to power on. Select your language then tap the
    Arrow icon
     to get started.
  2. Review the Terms and Privacy screen then tap
    Agree
    .
  3. From the Tablet activation screen, tap
    Next
    .
  4. Connect to a Wi-Fi network.
  5. To copy apps and data, tap
    Next
     to transfer your content now or tap
    Don't copy
    .
  6. Review the Terms and Privacy screen then tap
    Agree
    .
  7. To set up your tablet using an old device, tap
    Next
     then
    Galaxy/Android
     or
    iPhone/iPad
    .
  8. Sign in to your Google™ account or create a new one.
  9. Follow the onscreen prompts to review and accept the Google Services option (e.g., Gemini, Location, diagnostic data, etc.).
  10. Select a screen protection option (e.g. face recognition) then follow the prompts.
  11. To allow Verizon Services to collect Location and Apps info, tap
    Accept
    .
  12. Sign in to your existing Samsung account or create a new Samsung account then review Samsung legal info and services.
  13. Tap
    Done
     to complete setup.
