Set up fingerprint recognition on your Galaxy S10 / S10+ / S10e for fast, secure access. Remove saved fingerprints when troubleshooting or changing devices.

Before you begin

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Biometrics and security
    Fingerprints
    .
  3. Enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • For first-time setup:
      1. From the Fingerprints screen, review the tips then tap
        Continue
        .
      2. Follow the on-screen tutorial to scan your fingerprint then repeat as necessary until the process is complete.
      3. Tap
        Done
        .
      4. Tap the
        Fingerprint unlock switch
         to turn on or off.
    • To add more fingerprints:
      1. Tap
        Add fingerprint
        .
      2. Follow the on-screen tutorial to scan your fingerprint then repeat as necessary until the process is complete.
      3. Tap
        Done
        .
    • To remove fingerprints:
      1. Tap the fingerprint you want to remove.
      2. Tap
        Remove
        .
      3. To confirm, review the disclaimer then tap
        Remove
        .
