Google Pixel 3a / 3a XL - Customize Your Home Screen
Personalizing the Home screen on your Pixel 3a / 3a XL makes daily tasks easier. Add, remove, or arrange apps, use widgets, or set a wallpaper that matches your style.
Add Apps
- From a Home screen, swipe up to display all apps.
- Touch and hold an app.
- Drag-and-drop the shortcut onto the preferred Home screen location.For the app to be successfully added, there must be enough space on the screen. If needed, more Home screen panels may be added.
Add Widgets
- From a Home screen, touch and hold an empty space.
- TapWidgets.
- Touch and hold a widget.
- Drag-and-drop the widget onto the preferred Home screen location.For the widget to be successfully added, there must be enough space on the screen. If needed, more Home screen panels may be added.
- If applicable, tap additional options to activate the widget.Options vary depending on the type of widget.
Add / Remove Folders
- From a Home screen, tap and hold a shortcut (e.g., Email, Contacts, etc.).
- Drag-and-drop the shortcut onto another shortcut (e.g., Gmail, Calendar, etc.).A folder containing the shortcuts is created (titled Unnamed Folder). To rename the folder:
- Tap the folder.
- Tap theTitle bar.
- Enter a name then tap theCheckmark icon.
To remove a folder, drag the app(s) out of an existing folder until the folder disappears.
Remove App / Widget
- From a Home screen, touch and hold the item (e.g., widget, shortcut, etc.).
- Drag-and-drop the item onto 'Remove' at the top of the screen.
Set Wallpaper
- From a Home screen, touch and hold an empty space.
- TapWallpaper & style.
- TapChange wallpaper, then select the desired wallpaper category from the available folders (e.g., My photos, Landscapes, etc.).
- Select an image then tapSet Wallpaper, then choose an option to preview:
- Home screen
- Lock screen.
- Tap theDone icon,then select an option:
- Home screen
- Lock screen
- Home and lock screen
