Activate / Set Up Device

Activate your Pixel 3a / 3a XL to get started. This ensures you can make calls, send messages and connect to the internet.

Before you begin

Make sure a SIM card is inserted into the device before powering on.

Steps

  1. Press and hold the
    Power button
     until the Google logo appears. Select your language then tap
    Get started
    .
  2. From the Phone activation screen, tap
    Continue
    .
  3. Connect to a Wi-Fi network.
  4. To copy apps and data, tap
    Next
     to transfer your content now.
  5. Sign in to your Google™ account or create a new one.
  6. Review the Google Services and device backup options, then tap
    Accept
     or
    Turn on
    .
  7. Review and accept the Verizon Services and additional legal terms.
  8. Set up a screen lock then add fingerprint recognition to secure your device.
  9. Follow the onscreen prompts to set up additional Google features (e.g., Google Assistant, etc.).
  10. Review the navigation gestures and tap

  11. To finish setup, swipe up to go to the Home screen.
