Formatting an SD card erases all files and readies it for use with your Galaxy A50. This helps with troubleshooting or starting fresh with clean storage.

Before you begin

Ensure an SD / memory card is inserted into your Galaxy A50 and it isn't connected to a computer via the USB cable.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Battery and device care
    Storage
    .
  3. Tap the
    3-dot Menu
     then select
    Advanced
    .
  4. From the Portable storage section, tap the name of the SD / memory card.
  5. Tap
    Format
    .
  6. Review the disclaimer, tap
    Format SD card
     then allow several seconds for the process to complete.
