Add / Remove Face Recognition

Use facial recognition on your Galaxy A50 to secure your device and personal info. If you decide to switch methods, you can delete your face data anytime.

Before you begin

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Biometrics and security
    Face Recognition
    .
  3. Enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • For first-time setup:
      1. From the Face recognition screen, review the info about Face recognition then tap
        Continue
        .
      2. While holding the phone 8-20 inches away, position your face within the circle displayed onscreen.
      3. Tap the
        Stay on Lock screen switch
         to turn on or off then tap
        Done
        .
      4. From the Face recognition menu, tap any of the following
        switches
         to turn each option on or off (e.g., Face unlock, Stay on Lock screen until swipe, etc.).
    • To improve face data:
      1. From the Face recognition menu, tap
        Add alternative look
        .
      2. From the 'Are you wearing glasses right now' screen, select
        yes
         or
        no
         then tap
        Continue
        .
      3. While holding the phone 8-20 inches away, position your face within the circle displayed onscreen.
    • To remove face data:
      1. From the Face recognition menu, tap
        Remove face data
        .
      2. To confirm, review the disclaimer then tap
        Remove
        .
