Orbic Journey V / Orbic Journey - Manage Hotspot Settings

Here's how to configure the hotspot settings (e.g., password, allowed devices, timeout settings, etc.) for your Journey V / Journey.
  1. From the main screen, select
    Menu
    on your Orbic® Journey V / Orbic Journey.
    Utilize the 5-way navigation pad to highlight and the center button to select.

  2. Navigate:
    Tools & Settings
    Settings
    Wireless & networks
    Tethering & Mobile Hotspot
    .
  3. Select
    Mobile Hotspot
    then press the
    center button
    to turn on.
  4. Press the
    right soft key
    to choose Options.
  5. Select
    Setup Mobile Hotspot
    .
    Mobile Hotspot must be on to access setup.
  6. From the Setup Mobile Hotspot screen, configure the following as needed:
    • Network/WiFi name (SSID)
    • Security (e.g., WPA2 PSK, Open)
    • Password
      The new password must also be entered on the connecting device.
      1. Highlight the Password field, then enter the password.
    • Broadcast channel (e.g., Auto, 1-10)
  7. Select
    Save
    .
  8. Press the
    CLR button
    to go back.
  9. Press the
    right soft key
    to choose Options.
  10. Select
    Connected Devices
    to restrict which devices are allowed to connect.
  11. Select
    right soft key
    to choose 'Options' then press the
    right soft key
    again to choose 'Advanced', select
    Manage devices
    then select from the following:
    1. Allow all devices to connect: Press the
      center button
      to turn 'On' or 'Off'.
    2. Add device
      :
      1. Enter the Device name.
      2. Enter the MAC address and device name then select
        Save
        .
    3. Select
      Allow devices
      to enable or disable.
  12. Press the
    CLR button
    to go back.
  13. Select
    Timeout
    then select an option (e.g., Never turn-off, 5 min, etc.).
