 Add / Remove Face Recognition

Use facial recognition on your Galaxy Note10 / Note10+ / Note10+ 5G to secure your device and personal info. If you decide to switch methods, you can delete your face data anytime.

Before you begin

Ensure a secure screen lock has been set up.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Biometrics and security
    Face Recognition
    .
  3. Enter the current PIN, password, or pattern.
  4. Do any of the following:
    • For first-time setup:
      1. Select 'yes' or 'no' regarding glasses then tap
        Continue
        .
      2. While holding the phone 8-20 inches away, position your face within the circle displayed onscreen.
      3. From the 'Useful features' menu, tap the switch(es) to turn each option on or off (e.g., Face unlock, Faster recognition, etc.) then tap
        OK
        .
    • To remove face data:
      1. From the Face recognition menu, tap
        Remove face data
        .
      2. To confirm, review the disclaimer, then tap
        Remove
        .
