Setting data limits or warnings on your Galaxy S20+ 5G / S20 Ultra 5G helps you stay aware of your usage habits, which can be useful if your plan provides a fixed amount of data.

Before you begin

Device data usage may differ from actual usage. For accurate info and bill cycle dates, visit the My Verizon website. For Business Customer data, visit My Business.
To control data usage on your account, refer to Verizon Family™.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Connections
    Data usage
    .
  3. Do any of the following:
    • To turn data saver on/off:
      1. Tap
        Data saver
        .
      2. Tap
        Turn on now
         to turn on or off.
        Data saver must be turned off to use Mobile Hotspot.
    • To set mobile data limit:
      1. Tap
        Billing cycle and data warning
        .
      2. Tap the
        Limit mobile data usage switch
         to turn on.
      3. Tap
        Data limit
        and enter the desired level (e.g., 2.0 GB) then tap
        Set
        .
    • To set mobile data warning:
      1. Tap
        Billing cycle and data warning
      2. Tap
        Set data warning
         to turn on.
      3. Tap
        Data warning
         and enter the desired level (e.g., 2.0 GB) then tap
        Set
        .
    • To change data usage cycle:
      1. From the Mobile section, tap
        Billing cycle and data warning
        .
      2. Tap
        Start billing cycle on
        .
      3. Set the date to match the first day of your bill cycle then tap
        Set
        .
