How to Clean Your Samsung Galaxy Device

Here are guidelines for cleaning / sanitizing / disinfecting the glass, ceramic and metal surfaces of your Galaxy smartphone / tablet / watch.
Learn more about Verizon's response to COVID-19.
  • These guidelines only apply to Galaxy smartphones, Galaxy tablets and the Galaxy Watch.
  • This cleaning recommendation is only intended for the glass, ceramic and metal surfaces of your devices; it is not recommended for soft accessories, (e.g., those that are made of leather, rubber or plastic.).
  • Do not use abrasive materials or harsh chemicals that have not been approved for use on electronics since they could scratch your screen or wear down the coating that keeps fingerprints from smudging the display.
  • Do not use compressed air.
  • Do not apply or spray bleaches or liquid solutions directly on your mobile device.
To sanitize and clean Samsung Galaxy mobile devices, here are a few guidelines to follow:
  • Before cleaning your device, power it down. If possible, remove any accessories (e.g., covers, cases, etc.) and unplug any cables.
  • Use a lint-free, soft microfiber cleaning cloth (e.g., camera lens cloth, etc.) to gently wipe the exterior of your device.
Avoid applying too much pressure or excessive wiping.
If necessary, dampen the corner of a microfiber cloth with a small amount of distilled water or disinfectant, such as a hypochlorous acid-based solution (containing 50-80ppm) or an alcohol-based solution (containing more than 70% ethanol or isopropyl alcohol).
  • Avoid getting moisture in openings.
  • Avoid using compressed air.
