Rename SIM Line (Dual SIM Dual Standby)

If you use two phone numbers on your Pixel smartphone, renaming the SIM or eSIM helps ensure you select the correct line for calls, texts, and mobile data without confusion.

Before you begin

The following Pixel phones don't support Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS):
  • Pixel Phone by Google
  • Pixel 2 / 2XL
  • Pixel 3 / 3XL
  • Pixel 3a / 3aXL

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Network & internet
    SIMs
    .
  3. Tap the appropriate line (name varies; example Verizon eSIM).
    This option is only applicable when both the physical SIM card and eSIM are activated.
  4. Tap the
    Edit icon
    .
  5. From the Name field, enter the new name.
  6. From the color dropdown, choose a color option (teal. blue, purple, etc.) used by apps.
  7. Tap
    Save
    .
