Power Up in Safe Mode

Safe Mode is a diagnostic state on your Galaxy Note20 5G / Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G that only runs system apps so you can isolate if a third-party app is causing freezing or slowness.

Before you begin

An alternate method is available if the device can be powered on and is responsive.

Steps

  1. With the device powered off, press and hold the
    Power button
     until the device vibrates and the 'Samsung Galaxy Note20' screen appears then release.
  2. When the Samsung screen appears, press and hold the
    Volume down button
    .
  3. Continue to hold the
    Volume down button
     until 'Safe mode' appears in the lower left of the unlock or Home screen then release.
  5. To exit Safe Mode, restart the device.
