Before you begin

Steps

  1. Press and hold the
    Power button
     until the device begins to power on. Select your language then tap
    Start
    .
  2. Review the Terms and Privacy screen, then tap
    Agree
    .
  3. Confirm the correct phone number displays then tap
    Next
    .
  4. Connect to a Wi-Fi network.
  5. To copy apps and data, tap
    Next
     to transfer your content now or tap
    Don't copy
    .
  6. Sign in to your Google™ account or create a new one.
  7. Follow the onscreen prompts to review and accept the Google Services options (e.g., Location, Wi-Fi scanning, etc.).
  8. Set up a screen lock and face recognition or fingerprints to secure your device.
  9. From the Access your Assistant screen, tap
    I agree
     to use Google Assistant with the command "Hey Google".
  10. Tap
    Agree
     or
    Accept
    to add additional storage with Verizon Cloud or secure your device with Verizon Protect.
  11. From the Verizon Digital Secure screen, review the info then tap
    Accept
    .
  12. Sign in to your Samsung account to access Galaxy-specific features.
  13. From the Samsung services screen, tap the applicable switch(es) to turn on or off then tap
    Agree
    .
  14. Tap
    Done
     to complete setup.
