Google Pixel 4a 5G UW - Customize Your Home Screen

Personalizing the Home screen on your Pixel 4a 5G UW makes daily tasks easier. Add, remove, or arrange apps, use widgets, or set a wallpaper that matches your style.

Add Apps

  1. From the Apps screen, touch and hold an app.
  2. Drag-and-drop the shortcut onto the preferred Home screen.
    For the app to be successfully added, there must be enough space within the selected Home screen. If needed, more Home screen panels may be added.

Add Widgets

  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold an empty space.
  2. Tap
    Widgets
    .
  3. Tap the desired app then touch and hold a widget.
  4. Drag the widget onto the preferred Home screen then release.
    For the widget to be successfully added, there must be enough space within the selected Home screen. If needed, more Home screen panels may be added.
  5. If applicable, tap additional options to activate the widget.
    Options vary depending on the type of widget.

Add / Remove Folders

  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold an app (e.g., My Verizon).
  2. Drag the app on to another app (e.g., Gmail) then release it to add an unnamed folder.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • To rename the folder:
      1. Tap the folder.
      2. Tap the
        Title bar
         at the bottom of the open folder.
      3. Enter a name then tap the
        Checkmark icon
        .
    • To remove a folder:
      1. Drag the app(s) out of an existing folder until the folder disappears.

Remove Apps / Widgets

  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold the item (e.g., widget, apps, etc.).
  2. Drag the item to 'Remove' at the top of the screen then release.

Set Wallpaper

  1. Touch and hold a blank space on a Home screen.
  2. Tap
    Wallpaper & style
    .
    If prompted with permissions, tap
    ALLOW
    .
  3. Tap
    More wallpapers
     then select the desired wallpaper category from the available folders (e.g., My photos, Landscapes, etc.).
  4. Select an image.
  5. Select from the following tabs on the Preview screen to review:
    • Home screen
    • Lock screen
  6. Tap the
    Set Wallpaper
     then select from the following option to set the wallpaper:
    • Home screen
    • Lock screen
    • Home and lock screens
