Google Pixel 4a 5G UW - Power Up in Safe Mode

Safe mode is a diagnostic state on your Pixel 4a 5G UW that only runs system apps so you can isolate if a third-party app is causing freezing or slowness.
  1. With the device powered off, press and hold the
    Power button
     on the right edge of the device until it vibrates and the Google logo screen appears, then release.
    An alternate method is available if the device can be powered on and is responsive.
  2. With the Google logo on screen, press and hold the
    Volume down button
     on the right edge of the device.
  3. Continue to hold the
    Volume down button
     until 'Safe mode' appears in the lower-left of the unlock screen then release.
    This may take up to 30 seconds.
  4. With Safe Mode enabled, ensure Airplane Mode is turned off then test device and app functionality.
