Google Pixel 4a 5G UW - View / Restrict Data Usage by App

Here's how to view / restrict the amount of data an app on your Pixel 4a 5G UW uses.
Some apps need background data. Restricting data may cause them not to work without a Wi-Fi connection.
  1. Open the
    Settings app
     Settings icon.
  2. Tap
    Network & internet
     then perform any of the following:
    • For Cellular Data:
      1. Tap
        SIMs
        .
      2. Tap the SIM name (e.g., Verizon, etc.) then tap
        App data usage
        .
      3. Tap an app located below the usage graph then view the usage.
        To restrict the app from using data in the background, tap the
        Background data switch
         to turn off off switch.
      4. If presented, review the message then tap
        OK
        .
    • For Wi-Fi Data:
      1. Tap
        Internet
         then tap
        Non-carrier data usage
        .
      2. Tap an app located below the usage graph then view the usage.
        To restrict the app from using data in the background, tap the
        Background data switch
         to turn off off switch.
      3. If presented, review the message then tap
        OK
