Manage Voice & Data Settings

Adjusting the Voice & Data setting on your Apple® iPhone® 12 / iPhone 12 mini can help ensure reliable cellular performance and optimize battery life.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Tap
    Cellular
    .
  3. Tap the
    Cellular Data switch
     to turn on.
    If using an eSIM, Cellular Data is enabled by default on the preferred line (e.g., Primary Secondary, etc.).
  4. Tap
    Cellular Data Options
    .
    If using an eSIM, from Cellular Plans section, select the default eSIM line then tap
    Voice & Data
    .
  5. Tap
    Voice & Data
     then select from the following options:
    When the device is locked or in an idle state then is unlocked, LTE may briefly display.
    • 5G On
    • 5G Auto
    • LTE
