Activate your Galaxy A02s to get started. This ensures you can make calls, send messages and connect to the internet.

Before you begin

If using a physical SIM card, make sure there's a 5G SIM inserted into the device before powering on.

Steps

  1. Press and hold the
    Power button
     until the device powers on. Select the language then tap
    Start
    .
  2. Review the Terms, Privacy and Samsung Permissions info, then tap
    Agree
    .
  3. Confirm the correct phone number displays then tap
    Next
    .
  4. Connect to a Wi-Fi network.
  5. Complete the activation steps as prompted then tap
    Next
    .
  6. To copy apps and data, tap
    Next
     to transfer your content now or tap
    Don't copy
    .
  7. Sign in to your Google™ account or create a new one.
  8. Follow the onscreen prompts to review and accept the Google Services options (e.g., Google Drive, Location, etc.).
  9. Set up a screen lock and face recognition to secure your device.
  10. Tap
    I agree
     to choose preferences for using the Google Assistant.
  11. To allow Verizon Services to collect Location and Apps info, tap
    Accept
    .
  12. Tap
    Agree
     or
    Accept
     to add additional storage with Verizon Cloud or secure your device with Verizon Protect.
  13. Sign in to your Samsung account to access Galaxy-specific features and agree to Terms and Conditions.
  14. Tap
    Done
     to complete setup.
