Add / Remove Fingerprint Recognition

Set up fingerprint recognition on your Galaxy Z Fold3 5G for fast, secure access. Remove saved fingerprints when troubleshooting or changing devices.

Before you begin

Steps

  1. From a Home screen, navigate:
    Settings
    Security and privacy
    Biometrics
    .
  2. Tap
    Fingerprints
    .
  3. Enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • For first-time setup:
      1. From the Fingerprints screen, review the info then tap
        Continue
         (at the bottom).
      2. Follow the onscreen tutorial to scan your fingerprint then repeat as necessary until the process completes.
      3. Tap
        Done
        .
      4. Tap the
        Fingerprint unlock switch
         to turn on or off.
    • To add more fingerprints:
      1. Tap
        Add Fingerprint
        .
      2. Follow the onscreen tutorial to scan your fingerprint then repeat as necessary until the process completes.
      3. Tap
        Done
         if finished or
        Add
         to continue adding fingerprints.
    • To remove fingerprint(s):
      1. Touch and hold a fingerprint until a blue checkmark appears to the left of the fingerprint.
        To select all, touch and hold a fingerprint until selected then tap
        All
         in the upper left.
      2. Tap
        Remove
        .
      3. To confirm, review the disclaimer then tap
        Remove
        .
