Switching to a new device, traveling, or troubleshooting a connectivity issue? Learn how to quickly and easily insert or remove the SIM card for your Pixel 6 / 6 Pro.

Before you begin

Don't attempt to insert or remove the SIM card while your Pixel 6 / 6 Pro is powered on. Doing so may harm the SIM card and/or your device.

Steps

  1. Ensure the device is powered off.
  2. From the bottom left edge of the device (display facing up), insert the SIM removal tool into the hole to remove the card tray.
    Push in until the tray ejects.

  3. Do one of the following:
    • Insert the SIM card by using the notch in the card as a guide, insert the SIM card into the tray with the gold contacts facing up
    • Remove the SIM card by lifting the card from the tray.
  4. Carefully reposition the tray into the slot and push it gently back into the phone.
