Restarting your Galaxy S21 FE 5G in Safe Mode puts it into a diagnostic state that only runs system apps so you can determine if a third-party app is causing freezing or slowness.

Before you begin

An alternate method is available if the device is unresponsive or won't power on.

Steps

  1. Simultaneously press and hold the
    Power / side button
     and the
    Volume down button
     on the right edge of the device until the Power off prompt appears on the screen then release.
  2. Touch and hold
    Power off
     until the Safe Mode prompt appears then release.
  3. To confirm, tap the
    Safe Mode icon
     then allow up to 30 seconds for the device to reboot.
  5. To exit Safe Mode, restart the device.
