Add / Remove Fingerprint Recognition

Set up fingerprint recognition on your Galaxy S21 FE 5G for fast, secure access. Remove saved fingerprints when troubleshooting or changing devices.

Before you begin

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Security and privacy
    Lock screen
    .
  3. Tap
    Fingerprints
    .
  4. Do one of the following:
    • For first-time setup:
      1. From the Fingerprint prompt, review the info then tap
        Continue
        .
      2. Review the Fingerprint registration help info then tap
        Register
        .
      3. Follow the onscreen tutorial to scan your fingerprint.
      4. Tap
        Add
         or
        Done
        .
      5. Tap the
        Fingerprint unlock switch
         to turn on or off.
    • To add more fingerprints:
      1. Tap
        Add fingerprint
        .
      2. Review the Fingerprint registration help info then tap
        Register
        .
      3. Follow the onscreen tutorial to scan your fingerprint.
      4. Tap
        Done
         if finished or tap
        Add
         to continue adding fingerprints.
    • To remove fingerprint(s):
      1. Touch and hold a fingerprint (e.g., Fingerprint 1, Fingerprint 2, etc.) until a checkmark appears.
      2. Select any additional fingerprints to delete.
      3. Tap
        Remove
        .
      4. To confirm, review the disclaimer then tap
        Remove
        .
