TCL 40 XE 5G - Add / Remove Fingerprint Recognition

Here's how to set up and manage fingerprint recognition to unlock your TCL 40 XE 5G.
For the fingerprint scanner to operate, hands must be clean and moisture-free.
  2. From a Home screen, navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Security & biometrics

  3. From the Device security section, tap
    Fingerprint
    .
  4. Enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  5. Enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  6. Perform one of the following:
    • First Time Setup
      1. Tap
        Add Fingerprint
        .
      2. From the 'Find the sensor' screen, locate the sensor (Power button) then tap
        Got it
         (lower-right).
      3. Follow the on-screen tutorial to scan your fingerprint then repeat as necessary until the process completes.
      4. Tap
        Done
         (lower-right).
      5. Tap the
        Fingerprint switch
         to turn on Switch on or off Switch off.
    • Add More Fingerprints
      1. Tap
        Add fingerprint
        .
        Up to 5 fingerprints can be registered on the device.
      2. Follow the on-screen tutorial to scan your fingerprint then repeat as necessary until the process completes.
      3. Tap 'Done' if finished or 'Add fingerprints' to continue adding fingerprints.
    • Remove Fingerprint(s)
      1. Tap
        Manage fingerprints
        .
      2. From the Fingerprints section, tap the
        Delete icon
         Delete icon to the far right of the fingerprint you wish to remove.
      3. Tap
        REMOVE
        .
