Set up fingerprint recognition on your Galaxy Z Flip5 for fast, secure access. Remove saved fingerprints when troubleshooting or changing devices.

Before you begin

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Security and privacy
    Lock screen
    .
  3. Enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  4. Tap
    Fingerprints
    .
  5. Do one of the following:
    • For first-time setup:
      1. Tap
        Continue
        .
      2. Follow the onscreen tutorial to scan your fingerprint.
      3. Tap
        Done
        .
      4. Tap the
        Fingerprint unlock switch
         to turn on or off.
    • To add more fingerprints:
      1. Tap
        Add fingerprint
        .
      2. Follow the onscreen tutorial to scan your fingerprint.
      3. Tap
        Done
         if finished or
        Add
         to continue adding fingerprints.
    • To remove fingerprint(s):
      1. Touch and hold a saved fingerprint (e.g., Fingerprint 1, Fingerprint 2, etc.) until a blue checkmark appears.
      2. Select any additional fingerprints to delete or tap
        All
        .
      3. Tap
        Remove
        .
      4. To confirm, tap
        Remove
         again.
