Add / Remove Fingerprint Recognition

Set up fingerprint recognition on your Galaxy S23 FE for fast, secure access. Remove saved fingerprints when troubleshooting or changing devices.

Before you begin

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Lock screen and AOD
    Screen lock and biometrics
    .
  3. Tap
    Fingerprints
     then perform one of the following:
    • For first time setup
      1. From the Fingerprints screen, review the info then tap
        Continue
        .
      2. Review the Fingerprint registration help tips then tap
        Register
        .
      3. Follow the on-screen tutorial to scan your fingerprint.
      4. Tap
        Done
        .
      5. Tap the
        Fingerprint unlock switch
         to turn on or off.
    • To add more fingerprints
      1. Tap
        Add fingerprint
        .
      2. Follow the on-screen tutorial to scan your fingerprint.
      3. Tap
        Done
         if finished or
        Add
         to continue adding fingerprints.
    • To remove fingerprint(s)
      1. Touch and hold a fingerprint (e.g., Fingerprint 1, Fingerprint 2, etc.) until a checkmark appears.
      2. Select any additional fingerprints to delete.
      3. Tap
        Remove
        .
      4. To confirm, review the disclaimer then tap
        Remove
        .
