View, Open or Close Recently Used Apps

Navigating recently-used apps lets you quickly resume tasks or free up unused operating memory on your Pixel 8 / 8 Pro.

Steps

From a Home screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause near the middle of the screen until all open app cards appear.

Do any of the following:

To open apps, scroll to and tap the desired app(s) in the list.

To close an app, scroll through the apps then swipe up.

To close all apps, scroll to the last screen on the left then tap
