 Add / Remove Face Recognition

Use facial recognition on your Galaxy S24 / Galaxy S24+ / Galaxy S24 Ultra to secure your device and personal info. If you decide to switch methods, you can delete your face data anytime.

Before you begin

If synced to a corporate exchange account, the availability of this option depends on the policies of your IT admin.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Security & privacy
    Lock screen
    .
  3. Enter the current PIN, pattern or password.
  4. Tap
    Face recognition
    .
  5. Do one of the following:
    • For first-time setup:
      1. From the Face recognition prompt, review the info then tap
        Continue
        .
      2. Review the Face registration help info then tap
        Register
        .
      3. Align your face within the circle and follow onscreen prompts until the process is complete.
      4. Tap the following options to turn on or off:
        • Face unlock
        • Stay on Lock screen until swipe
        • Require open eyes
        • Brighten screen
    • To remove face data:
      1. Tap
        Remove face data
        .
      2. Read the disclaimer then tap
        Remove
        .
