A screen lock secures your Galaxy Tab A9+ 5G and keeps it private. Setting it up or adjusting the options helps you find the right balance between security and accessibility.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Lock screen
    Screen lock and biometrics
    .
  3. Do one of the following:
    • To set up a PIN:
      1. Tap
        PIN
        .
      2. Enter a numeric PIN between 4 to 16 digits then tap
        Continue
        .
      3. Re-enter the numeric PIN then tap
        OK
        .
      4. If prompted, configure the notification options as preferred then tap
        Done
        .
    • To set up a password:
      1. Tap
        Password
        .
      2. Enter a password between 4 to 16 characters then tap
        Continue
        .
      3. Re-enter the password then tap
        OK
        .
      4. If prompted, configure the notification options as preferred then tap
        Done
        .
    • To set up a pattern:
      1. Tap
        Pattern
        .
      2. Draw an unlock pattern that connects at least 4 dots then tap
        Continue
        .
      3. Draw the same pattern again then tap
        Confirm
        .
      4. If prompted, configure the notification options as preferred then tap
        Done
        .
    • To disable screen lock:
      1. Tap
        None
         or
        Swipe
        .
      2. If prompted, tap
        Remove Data
         then tap
        Remove
         to confirm.
