Activate your moto g play - 2024 to get started. This ensures you can make calls, send messages, and connect to the internet.

Before you begin

Make sure a 4G SIM card is inserted into the device before powering on.

Steps

  1. Press and hold the
    Power button
     until the device begins to power on. Select your language then tap
    Start
    .
  2. Confirm the correct phone number displays then tap
    Next
    .
  3. To set up your phone using an old phone, select
    Android device
     or
    iPhone or iPad
    . Otherwise, tap
    Skip
    .
  4. Connect to a Wi-Fi network.
  5. Turn privacy and security features on or off then tap
    Accept & continue
    .
  6. Sign in to your Google™ account or create a new one.
  7. Select the user type.
  8. Set up a screen lock and fingerprints to secure your device.
  9. To copy apps and data, tap
    Next
     to transfer your content or tap
    Don't copy
    .
  10. Follow the onscreen prompts to review and accept the Google Services option (e.g., Location, Backup, etc.).
  11. To allow Verizon Services to collect Location and App info, tap
    Accept
    .
  12. Tap
    Agree
     or
    Next
     to add additional storage with Verizon Cloud or secure your device with Digital Secure.
  13. Add your email to allow Motorola to communicate with you.
  14. Tap
    Got it
     to complete the activation.
