Add / Remove Face Recognition

Use facial recognition on your moto g play - 2024 to secure your device and personal info. If you decide to switch methods, you can delete your face data anytime.

Before you begin

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Security & privacy
    Device unlock
    Face Unlock
    .
  3. Enter the current PIN, password, or pattern.
  4. Do any of the following:
    • For first-time setup:
      1. Tap
        Set up
         then tap
        Set up
        .
      2. While holding the phone 8-20 inches away, position your face within the circle displayed onscreen.
      3. Review the instructions then tap
        Next
        .
      4. From the Looks good screen, tap
        Done
        .
    • To remove face data:
      1. From the Face Unlock menu, tap
        Delete face model
        .
      2. To confirm, review the disclaimer then tap
        Delete
        .
